So, you wanna make a big ship, eh? Well, you're going to need a shipwright and several carpenters...

Ships are one of the more interesting aspects of One Piece; they all seem incredibly individualized and articulate. Just look at the Going Merry. There are certain things that you must do before you can build a larger boat.

Sounds simple enough, right?

a) You must have a shipwright in your crew, or you must hire a shipwright.

Another simplicity; there are certain villages that have workers-for-hire and shipwrights-for-hire.

b) You must have or hire 2 or more carpenters.

That's simple enough; there are carpenters for hire, of course, at a few villages.

c) You must have a place where you're building the ship and the materials to build it.

There's no worry there, usually. There are certain places that can charge you per day for their shipyard and then a single price for all the lumber and materials you use.

d) You must fill out the following form.

Here, this is the final step. When you want your ship built, hand in this form.

Code:
[b]Name:[/b]
[b]Motif:[/b]
[b]Size:[/b]
[b]Features:[/b]
[b]Other Details:[/b]

Explanation

Name: What should you name your ship?
Motif: Is there any particular motif you'd like to portray? For example, the Thousand Sunny is based oof of a "Lion" and what seems to be the sun or sunflowers.
Size: Do you want your ship to be as big as the freaking Thriller Bark? Or about the size of the Going Merry?
Features: Outline any details you'd like about the ship; should it have a factory for your inventor? A training room for your swordsman? What would you like to do with it?
Other Details: Any other thing you can think of.

Ships, depending upon the amount of carpenters and the size of the ship, can take up to 10 days (real time) to complete. In that time, you can train your characters or go out on other adventures, however, unless you have a different, working, boat, you can't travel to other islands.

Of course, you can build bases and hideouts, too. Basically, they follow the above directions, however, you don't need a shipwright. Unfortunately, Bases can't move, so you'll have to choose an island and find a way to transport materials and carpenters.
